You sit up, fully dressed for conversation, and tell us your history, what worries you, and what you want. Nothing goes near your mouth until you say you are ready. If you are anxious, tell us here and we slow everything down.
The gentle exam.
A full check of every tooth and your gums, with photos shown live on the ceiling screen so you see exactly what we see. Digital X-rays only if genuinely needed, and they are already covered by your $199.
The quiet clean.
A scale and polish with our quietest handpiece, finished with fluoride. If anything feels sensitive you raise your hand, everything stops, and we only continue when you are ready.
Your plan, on paper.
You leave with a printed plan: every recommended item, its exact price, and what your health fund is likely to cover. It is valid for 6 months and nothing starts today unless you ask for it. Take it home, think, compare.

How much will a check-up actually cost me?
$199, fixed. That covers the full exam, scale and polish, fluoride, and digital X-rays if they are needed. If you are with a health fund with extras cover, HICAPS runs your claim on the spot and the typical out-of-pocket gap is between $0 and $60 depending on your fund and level of cover. We tell you the gap before you sit down, not after.
I haven't been in years. Will I get a lecture?
No. About a third of our new patients arrive after 5 or more years away, and the record is 22 years. Your first visit starts with a 10 minute conversation, and if all you want at first is a look and a plan, that is a complete appointment in itself. You leave with a printed plan and prices, and you decide the pace from there.
I have a toothache today. Can you actually see me today?
If you call before 10am, yes. We hold 2 emergency slots every weekday morning and release them at 8am. The emergency exam is $120 including an X-ray, and if you need immediate treatment such as a temporary filling or an extraction, we quote it in the chair before doing anything. After 10am we will still try, and if we truly cannot fit you in we will tell you straight away rather than leave you waiting by the phone.
Are the kids really covered for free?
If your family receives an eligible payment such as Family Tax Benefit A, the Child Dental Benefits Schedule covers up to $1,132 of basic dentistry per child over two consecutive years, and we bulk bill it, so there is no gap for check-ups, cleans, fillings and most extractions. Reception checks your child's eligibility with Medicare in about 2 minutes when you book. Kids under 2 come along free as a ride-along visit to get used to the room.
I'm scared of needles. What do you do differently?
Three things. Numbing gel sits on the gum for a full 2 minutes before any injection, the anaesthetic is delivered slowly, which is what removes the sting, and you hold an agreed stop signal that halts everything the moment you raise your hand. If you want more, happy gas is available for $95 a visit. You are also welcome to book the free 15 minute visit first, where nothing clinical happens at all.
Can I split the cost of bigger treatment?
Yes. Any plan over $500 can be split into weekly payments over up to 12 months, interest free, through our payment plan partner. As a guide, a $1,650 crown works out around $32 a week over a year. There is no credit card surcharge on any payment under $5,000, and your written quote stays locked for 6 months regardless of when you start.
