What does a plumber cost in Mackay?
Depends on the job, but here are real numbers: blocked drains from $220 including the CCTV inspection, tap and toilet repairs typically $180 to $350, a 250L electric hot water replacement from $1,690 installed. Whatever your job is, you get the exact figure in writing before we book it. If a plumber will not give you a number up front, that is your answer about how the invoice will go.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
Not if we do the repair. If you only want a diagnosis and quote and then decide not to proceed, it is a flat $90, and we tell you that on the phone before we come, not on an invoice afterwards.
What do after-hours emergencies cost?
Between 7am and 7pm there is no surcharge at all. After hours, weekends and public holidays add a flat $150 to the quoted job price. Flat means flat: it is the same at 8pm as it is at 3am, and it is included in the fixed price we text you before the van leaves.
My hot water is gone. How fast can you really replace it?
Call before 1pm and a standard electric replacement is usually done the same day, because we carry 250L units on the van. Gas and heat pump systems typically take 1 to 2 business days since we order the exact model for your setup. Either way you will have a firm install time when we quote, not a "sometime this week".
A pipe just burst. What do I do right now?
Turn the water off at the mains: the tap at your water meter, usually at the front boundary of the block, turned clockwise. Then call us. Turning the mains off first can be the difference between a mop-up and an insurance claim. If you need a report for your insurer, we provide one within 48 hours of the job, photos included.
Are you actually licensed and insured?
QBCC licence 00000000 (sample) and QLD gas work licence, both held by the plumbers on the tools, not just the company. $20 million public liability cover. Licence numbers are printed on every quote and invoice so you can check them with QBCC yourself.
