The map pack is the one that pays

When somebody searches for what you do plus where they are, Google shows a box with three businesses and a map. That box gets the calls. It is decided mostly by your Google Business Profile, your reviews, and how close you are to the person searching. Your website influences it, but far less than people assume.

So the first work is almost never on the website. It is claiming and correcting the profile, choosing the right primary category, and getting the review flow running.

The organic results are the second surface

Below the map box are the ordinary blue links. This is where your website does the work, and where the job is one page per thing you want to be found for. A single Services page listing twenty offerings ranks for none of them properly.

The technical layer underneath

Speed on a phone, whether Google can crawl and index what you publish, whether your pages declare what they are in a way machines can read. None of this wins on its own. All of it caps how far the other two can go.

What gets measured

• Named keywords agreed before the work starts, not chosen afterwards to make a report look good
• Map pack position for those searches, from the suburbs you actually service
• Calls and enquiries that arrived from search, separated from the ones that did not
• What changed and why, in five minutes of reading, once a month
