Most small business websites are brochures that describe the business to somebody who already decided to visit. A site that wins work does something narrower: it makes the enquiry the easiest thing on the page.
Built by hand, not assembled
No page builder, no theme with forty plugins holding it together. Those load slowly, break at awkward moments and tie you to whoever installed them. Hand built pages are smaller, faster and simpler to change, and there is nothing renewing in the background that you did not agree to.
What that gets you in practice

- Readable by search engines and assistants without extra work bolted on later
- Nothing you have to maintain, no plugin updates and no security patch cycle
The part most people find out too late
The domain, the hosting and every account are registered in your name from day one, not mine. If you leave, you take the site and the accounts and nothing needs my permission. This is worth reading twice, because losing control of the domain is the single most common horror story in this industry and it is entirely avoidable.
Online shops, booking systems, membership sites and anything that needs a login. Those are a different craft and pretending otherwise is how projects go wrong. If that is what you need I will say so and point you somewhere better.
